A Year in Review

School is nearly out! The kids are gone, but we have 3 teacher work days and then yes, finally, summer vacation begins.

It's been another roller-coaster end-of-the-school-year: WHOOSH UP! (met Mr. Right)... WHOOSH DOWN! (Mr. Right's father passed and we attended the funeral)... WHOOSH UP! (Mr. Right is taking us to Las Vegas next week-- Grand Canyon, here I come!)... WHOOSH DOWN! (found out my nephew has special needs issues)...WHOOSH UP! (I'm moving over to Mr. Right's apartment complex at the end of June)...

[An aside about Mr. Right-- my Delta-guy-- :-) Well, here I was cruisin' along, loving my life, loving being single, dating, doing my own thing, dreaming up the next adventure... and then it happens. I meet a very special someone. And, for a change, I'm not looking for an excuse to bolt from the relationship at the first sign of conflict. It's more interesting to stick around, hash it out and move on together. He's not who I expected my Mr. Right to be. Yet, it works, so I'm going with it.]

Anyway, while last summer found me traveling to Israel and Spain, exorbitant travel rates this year will keep me state-side, catching up with family and friends, doing yoga, blogging, unpacking my new apartment, lounging by the pool with cold drinks and reading, reflecting and dreaming.

Speaking of blogging, can you believe I've been blogging for over a year now? I recenty looked through all my blog entries to reflect back on this year, to remind myself of all the things that are important to me and to see how things have changed. It's nice to see that it's been a year filled with journeys. I travelled into my new Jewish identity, experiencing the holidays in a new way; journeyed to Israel, Madrid, San Diego, Los Angeles, Monterey, Sacramento and to Geneva, Switzerland. Recently, Delta-Guy and I spent 24 hours in Ft. Lauderdale, FL (see photo above). I also hosted couch-surfers, my family and friends, book clubs and went salsa dancing for the first time. I got pneumonia and was generally sick. A LOT. I got published in my synagogue's newletter. Oh, and I'm moving after having lived 4 years in the same place (for a change :-)

I'm looking forward to our trip to Las Vegas, and I can't wait to post photos on here when we return.
